SPX Nutrition 90 Day Challenge is complete!

                                                Amazing Times

Challenge would be the right word for this. When we begin to do something new and foreign on a consistent basis that is all positive and pointing in the right direction, you get new results. I loved nurturing myself through this process. I did not harass or was unkind to myself. I did discipline and created new paradigms, I loved it off. I made choices on purpose to get results on purpose. First, it's the decision to be good to your vessel and to love what our Holy Creator made us to be. We are fearfully and wonderfully made! Discovering the foods he made to nourish us and not the prefabricated chemically treated foods made in labs to destroy the inner workings and guck-up our system. Do you know we must have the proper pH to even metabolize our food and for the body to assimilate it the colon must be clean so the nutrients can be absorb into our body? Plus a detoxed liver is needed to help you lose weight. But stop, when our cylinders are on point something beautiful starts to happen. You go into negative burn mode. The moment when the scale begins to move in the opposite direction--- is a wonderful day.

The SPX  Nutrition, Nutri-Thin product was calming, I felt a calm peace and a desire not to gorge or sneak eat or need to treat myself. I made a conscience choice not to consume sugars, breads, starches, yeast. I was making okay choices before, but I consumed to much sugar. When I wanted a food item that was not the best choice I deliberately chose to eat it in moderation. My choice, I love the sound of that. I decided on Thanksgiving to fast and be thankful on purpose. I had fast days on purpose through-out the challenge, to cleanse my mind and soul of things. I love feeling en-powered to have the power of choice as to what I consume. Yes, I have lost in the past, but this was a different way to lose. I also chose to walk almost ever day and enjoyed each step, even when I pushed myself for further territory. Exercise has become a necessary fun habit.

Results: I started really at 296, but before I could weigh in I lost six pounds, 290 was my weigh in.  I lost 24 pounds on my challenge. I was 266 on December 5th last day of the challenge. This morning I am 262. Yes, this has been a catalysis to a healthier lifestyle. Thank you Rick Walls CEO, for a great product. What I have discovered, the product has coleus, God's gift to weight loss. This has been a launch pad to getting to my goal. I detoxed with lemon and water in the morning sometimes and drunk spa waters with cucumbers and mint leaves. I increase my water intake and drinking of oolong green tea. When I felt the need for nutrients I sometimes had protein drinks with moringa powder and vita-greens powder. Mainly, I enjoyed dishes with cauliflower, beans and vegetables.

The time flows by whether we seize the day for good or let them drizzle through our fingers. Link up and become your best self!

Rewards, I rewarded my self with sport shoes, essential oils and body wraps. Try detox baths and massage. My next reward will be a gym membership. SPX Nutrition is paying for pounds lost. Honestly, at one point I stop caring about the money, and started caring about how I was doing. I am enacting my next transformation from Dec 15, 2014 to Feb 15, 2015. I will post my progress when I finish this time of transformation. Some side notes, this was the first time I kept a food journal and exercise journal. I can look back and see my success and good food choices. It makes you accountable. Also my concern was not about big, or should I say small numbers on the scale, but good health! Take good care of yourselves and love your vessel too! Love you all Gina.

Flip My Life!

Greetings Everyone, I have been enjoying the coolness of the change of season. It has been lovely. Myself, my sister Angie and niece Amira shared a beautiful day in North Beach on the board walk, having dinner (salad and chicken) and a stroll. God is good and his mercy endures forever. Certain days feel surreal because of just how perfect they can be.

I decided to lose some weight and I joined SPX Nutrition because they are offering a unique program. First, if you lose weight with their products for 90 days they will pay you. Second, if you have four friends, co workers or family to join with you, your products are free. For every twenty pounds they are paying $100.00 up to $600.00 for a sixty pound loss.

I started Sept. 7th, 2014 and have already loss ten pounds. I am keeping a journal of my exploits. It is funny, I have read so many books about weight loss, and yes I owned a Body Wrap Spa named Divine Dimensions back in 2001-2005. I have lost 100 lbs, twice. So, yes I know how to do it. It is the keeping it off. Now here is the rub, how many of us have sat down and watch Dr. Oz with a bad food choice while watching? Well, guilty as charged. For me it seems I don't have to eat much of the wrong foods. My body goes into hyper production of fat cells. I truly believe seeing food, smelling it etc., causes me to gain weight. Case in point I can spend time posting food pictures on pinterest and I gain five pounds. Truth. And I am not eating food as I post.

I had decided in the month of May to Flip my life. I bought the first journal book and started juicing and eating clean and green. Minimal amounts of meats were consumed, I don't eat pork and I choose not to eat much beef. So, I started at 250 lbs. The scales went up to 296 lbs by Sept. Some days the scales just escalated up 5-7 lbs. Needless to say this is why I am doing this health challenge. Now what was funny to me, before I could get the news paper, print off the application and take my pictures, I lost six pounds. I weighed in at 290 lbs. I believe my fat got nervous, as I made a concrete decision to stick to this program. What I did in times past, I did not eat anything that had yeast, sugar and flour. That is what I am doing now along with SPX Nutritional products. Before I also used a seaweed product that had colloidal silver and Aloe Vera. The product was a blessing for so many. But it is no longer available. I am glad that I found SPX Nutrition, now  I can use SEA VEG from SPX and their Nutri-Cleanse product (www.spxnutrition.... Supplement Facts Serving Size: 2 Capsules (10g) Servings per container: 30 Amount per Serving %Daily Value Proprietary Formula 1600 mg ** African Mango (Irvingia Gabonensis) Fennel Seed, Cascara Sagrada, Ginger, Goldenseal, Pumpkin Seed, Licorice Root, Rhubarb, Citrus Pectin, Acidophilus, Cape Aloe, Bertonite Clay Powder,Aloe Vera Leaf Cayenne, Senna Extract, Oat Bran, Prune Juice, Flax Seed Do you have an slow metabolism?   What I learned while I was working with body wrapping, any thing that goes onto your skin, goes into your blood system. DEEP I KNOW. Skin Deep. When the body is faced with synthetic vitamins and chemicals, processed foods and pesticide laden foods the body has to store this toxic overload by wrapping fat around it, so we don't self poison ourselves. Shall we begin to talk about excito-toxins and GMO's and the lab foods that keep us addicted. We must slowly detox and cleanse the body, because doing so quickly has a reverse effect: headaches, rashes and boils. I do not use lotions, but nutritional oils on my skin, coconut, almond, shea, baboa, moringa, castor, olive just depending on what I feel my body needs. Baking soda is my best friend for personal hygiene, mouth, body, and deodorant blends. I also pair it with essential oils also. Now this may sound strange cell can become congested. That was the beauty of body wrapping, it open up the cells to allow the toxins to flow into the lymphatic draining system of the body. Most products included Aloe Vera, seaweed, juniper oils or cypress oil and special varieties of herbal blends. Greater still when the liver is fatty and toxic it can't do it's job efficaciously. Also, if the pH of the body is out of whack the body can not properly metabolize. I implore everyone to read Dr.  Robert Young's Book The pH Miracle! He states when the body has the proper oxygen and the alkalinity is balanced, cancer can not set up in the body.

I know everything has to work in tandem, a smooth oiled machine. So in the morning I start by drinking lemon or lime water to loosen and remove debris from the lymphatic system. And commence to drink a half a gallon of water in the first hour. I blend apples and beets with some ice cubes and have that as my morning nourishment. By noon I enjoy steamed veggies or a salad or spinach top with eggs. I don't eat any flour based items. You can use spaghetti squash, zucchini and cauliflower for so many dishes. I use gunpowder green tea, oolong and white tea as my beverages.  Keeping the colon fresh and clean is so important. Yes I do believe in going to get colonics and massages.  Most of all I walk, weight lift and gently stretch. This challenge has me excited. I am going to enjoy the

losing process, but I really am going to enjoy buying some new fashionable clothes!!!! Hopefully some of you will decide to join me and discover the SPX Nutrition product line for yourself. The company is keeping it simple, three products that answers just what the body needs. To be cleansed, to be fed and to satisfy the cravings. To quiet the loud roar of the appetite.

Order your Days! So, what's on your menu?

Happy New Year!! 2014, ?? Okay it is February. It is funny how we look at time. Many may ask what time is it? Really, how well do we optimize the time we have? Thirty minutes of exercise a day will make a big difference in how we wear our weight. Three hours at the salon, you walk out a raven beauty. Forty hour a week at a job = time to cash in some coins. How do we spend the time we are given. Do we share 10, 15, 20 minutes a day thanking the one who created time for us. Not a guilt trip, just a side bar down the road of gratefulness. Do we share special time with our mate letting them know we are thankful for all their help. The time family members let you hang on with a wing and a prayer... Let them know you care and appreciate everything they have done for you!

The state of being relaxed when the world is in a hurry going nowhere fast is the art of life. Keep your cool and peace. Remember the faster you go the more car lengths you need between you and the car ahead of you! Pump your brakes and slow down. When on the road of life, some days take the scenic route home. Extend your days by enjoying every moment the Creator has given you. Don't let your life be a blur. Savor it, sop up every precious moment. Give him praise, glory and honor. Love on your heavenly Father, let him know that he is the best. Tell your Daddy thank you.

Be creative with your time, paint that picture. Write your book. Create poetry that will inspire the next generation. Braid your daughters hair, great bonding time. Plant some fruit trees, and maybe grow a veggie garden. Maybe take some time to fall in love, with yourself. Be kinder to yourself this year. Show yourself some mercy and grace. Maybe even get a puppy. Whatever you choose to do, stay positive, and keep a peaceful and grateful heart. Love you all, Gina

Catch The Waves, A Families Story!

How did it all begin you say?

On a desperation of my sister after using an chemical relaxer that took most of her hair right off her head. Back in the early eighties, the label on the relaxer had a long warning to the user. Sort of how medications list all the side effects. The package would list don't get it in your eyes because it would cause blindness. Hair breakage and burns etc. You never knew the potency of the relaxer or how old it was. It was the luck of the draw.( I have chosen not to serve relaxers to my client.) Well, she didn't want to cover-up with a wig, but she still had to go to work her good government job. She had come to our Mom for a solution. The funny thing was I had gotten my first hair weave while I lived in Las Vegas, Nevada (1980). The stylist had charged me $450.00 to install this cacophony of hair. It was huge, wild and curly. But, I loved every ringlet. I didn't have a clue of how to control it. Thinking back on it, that was a funny site! Well, when I moved back to Maryland, I didn't have any one to take it out. So like always, my Mom released me from this weave. She looked at the work and said " You paid $450.00 for that, I could have done that!" Back in high school, I would cut up wigs and have my Mom sew in the hair to give me the shag look (1975-76). (My Mother was an seamstress in her own right. She created Easter outfits for all seven daughter each year, and our summer play outfits.) I have always had an affinity for hair.
My Mom had an dream, she had dreamed of an way to put hair in my sister's hair. She drove to Washington, D.C. and created what would later be known as Catch The Waves. The hair was called Twisty, it was a wavy hair that could withstand water. It was an kanekalon hair that you didn't have to do anything to much to maintain the style for three month.
My sister had gotten on the Metro train headed to work. She said women were falling over themselves, coming up to her and asking her where she had gotten her hair done. The main question she got that day and the following was, where are the braids? Can you give me her number? An phenomenal hair expression was born. All seven sisters and my Mom came together in our first meeting. The call to order and the first thing was giving the style a name. It was wavy and you had to catch it a certain way to put it in, I blurted out Catch The Waves!! The name was approved. My sister Mary drew the logo of an women with the waves, and Ava and we all gave input to created business cards, flyers and T-shirts. Next we set an price, back then we decided on $60.00. My Mom patented the process. Now to perfect the locking in of the hair, my Mom had us in girl scouts and I remembered an certain lock. We used it and the hair could not come undone unless cut.
We had so many clients coming to the house, that neighbor got upset and had the association put us out of business. My Mom had never worked outside the home, raising nine children and loving my Air Force father was her full-time. It was kind of funny my youngest sister was in high school, no more babies. This was an good outlet for my Mom. She did not let the association shut her down. She found an building, paid an manager and made herself an cosmetologist apprentice. The business kept growing, she self studied and took classes at the college and went and took her test and received her license.
My sister Angie was attending the University of Maryland, she was in her third year, but was helping at the salon. She decided she loved doing hair. She decided to get her hair license also.
In 1987, I decided to do hair from home. Daycare for three children would be to much. What a blessing this business has been. I did Catch The Waves by Vashay until 1992 in Landover. I got a full-time job as an Computer Operator at DOE, Germantown. I still couldn't get over doing hair and would do hair on the weekend in Capitol Heights, at my client's homes and my townhouse in Germantown. I also decided to attend college, I stayed busy and loved getting on the Dean's list. Yes, it can be done!

I will skip to 1998, I was attending Jericho City of Praise, the Pastor had said God had anointed certain person with an spirit of prosperity. She made her way off the altar down among the members, cut through the crowd and came to me. She said that the anointing was already on me, but she was laying hands so that I might know. The next Sunday my sister Angie had hands laid on her also. With in a week BET Heart and Soul magazine called us. They had heard about Catch The Waves and wanted to come to film the salon. Awesome. Glory to God for opening doors. After this we had clients coming to Capitol Heights, Maryland from New York, Georgia, and LA, California.
We had always had fun doing our client's hair. They would call us the hair hospital because their hair would be healed and grow so long that we had to graduate them back to their own hair. We would tell stories, jokes and laugh. Our clients came for a hair style but it has always been more then that. We have prayed with sick clients and they have been healed in Jesus Holy name, from cancer, heartaches, and life issues. We have had women who wanted babies and have prayed that God would heal their womb, and have seen babies born. Not just these miracles, we would pray for their health, finances, husbands and children. God only knows the lives that has been touched. We have had an love for the spirit and souls of these women. It has been an honor to share our life and talents for over 25 years. My mother is in her eighties, she still works everyday. I honor her now in this post her name is Espanola, (Nola) Floyd. Thank you Mom for having a dream. Thank you for your quiet and gentle spirit. Thank you for a loving and giving heart. I love you.

This year in March the family came together and cleared everything from the salon. The grandchildren painted, new floors were laid down. New furniture and decorations were put in place, we made it special. My Mom left Saturday after work and came in Tuesday morning to a brand new shop. She was speech less! All I can say is tears of joy was flowing all over the place as she witness our outpouring of love. Most of the family was there to see the unveiling. Thanks to my sister Eva for having the extra furniture and thought to give my Mom a birthday surprise. Catch The Waves is located at 9244 East Hampton Drive Suite 105 Capitol Heights MD.
